The Special Activities Center of the Central Intelligence Agency carries out covert operations and fields a paramilitary force. This paramilitary force is actively engaged in many parts of the world.
Support from DoD. The SAC acts independently from the Department of Defense but is supported with transportation, logistical, and 'advisor' support. In the field the PM force utilize special operations personnel for various counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations and programs. Many of the career and contract personnel used by the paramilitary force are former special operations personnel.
