Special Activities Center. This part of the CIA carries out covert operations and fields a paramilitary force. This PM force acts independently from the Department of Defense but is supported with transportation, logistical, and 'advisor' support. In the field the PM force utilize special operations personnel for various counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations and programs. Many of the career and contract personnel used by the paramilitary force are former special operations personnel.
