Operation Epic Fury Timeline

Operation Epic Fury began on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with a U.S.-Israel joint multi-domain offensive against Iran to destroy its missile, drone, and nuclear infrastructure. The mission saw rapid success in establishing air superiority, degrading Iran's air force, destroying Iran's navy, disruption of Iran's defense industry, and limiting Iran's ability to attack neighbors with missiles and drones.

June 30, 2026

Iran's IRGC is still holding out for Iran's exclusive control of the Strait of Hormuz. They have indicated that if the Doha talks do not recognized this and is the U.S. and Western states do not drop the southern Omani-coast route then they will close the strait.

June 27, 2026

Iran has launched strikes against Kuwait and Bahrain in escalating attacks that threaten to unravel peace efforts. They are not happy with the U.S. - Omani vessel route some tankers and cargo ships are using.

Both Iran and the United States are exchanging strikes against each other. This latest round began when Iran attacked a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Several Gulf nations have been attacked by Iran as well.

June 26, 2026

Vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is once again minimal. Iran fired on a cargo ship in the past few days and announced further restrictions on commercial vessel traffic.

June 18, 2026

On Thursday, June 18, 2026, U.S. Central Command issued the following statement on X:

"Today, U.S. forces lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with the President's direction. American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports. All U.S. military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased. Our great Naval Ships will remain in the general area to make sure that all aspects of the agreement are adhered to, obeyed and in full force and effect."

June 16, 2026

The Associated Press published a draft of the twelve-point agreement between that will likely be signed by Iran and the United States in the next few days. "Read the Transcript of the Deal Between the US and Iran", AP News, June 16, 2026.

June 13, 2026

Israel is continuing its attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. President Trump warns that the continued attacks could halt the proposed ceasefire.

June 12, 2026

Iran is now framing the Strait of Hormuz as a regional issue with dialogue between Iran, Oman, and other Gulf nations. The terms of this 'new' agreement or ceasefire differ depending on which version you read. The U.S. has their version and the Iranians have their version. Until we see the actual text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that is signed, we likely will not know the exact terms of the agreement.

June 11, 2026

President Trump said on Thursday, June 11, 2026, that the U.S. will strike Iran "very hard" and that at some point the U.S. will take control of Kharg Island. Later in the day, he had a different message, saying that he will not strike Iran. Trump said that an agreement would be signed in Europe in the next several days.

June 10, 2026

President Trump says he is nearing a decision to order strikes on Iranian power plants and bridges, accusing Tehran of dragging out peace negotiations. On Tuesday night, according to President Trump, the U.S. launched 49 BGM-109 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM) against targets in Iran. Strikes by aircraft also took place.

U.S. Central Command announced that its forces conducted self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran on June 10, 2026. The targets included Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communication systems, and air defense sites across Iran. U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy assets fired precision munitions on Iranian targets that posed a threat to U.S. forces and international commercial ships tansiting regions waters. U.S. Central Command announced that it disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman on June 10, 2026. The vessel had violated the blockade against Iran by attempting to transport Iranian oil. This makes the third commercial ship disabled by American forces this week. Earlier this week, U.S. aircraft disabled Palau-flagged vessels M/T Marivex and M/T Settebello. Marivex violated the blockade by by attempting to sail to an Iranian port and Settebello attempted to transport Iranian oil. Thus far, CENTCOM forces have disabled nine non-compliant vessels, redirected 135 ships that complied, and allowed 42 vessels supporting humanitarian aid to pass since initiating the blockade on April 13. June 9, 2026

The U.S. responded to the Iranian attack on the Appache helicopter with strikes against 20 Iranian targets. The Iranians retaliated with strikes against U.S. installations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.

June 8, 2026

An AH-64 Apache attack helicopter was downed in the waters off the coast of Oman on June 8, 2026. Two aircrew members were successfully rescued by an naval drone belonging to Navy Task Force 59. "Apache Crew Rescued by Naval Drone off Coast of Oman", SOF News, June 9, 2026.

June 5, 2026

Iran said that it fired on U.S. warships in the Strait of Hormuz region. CENTCOM stated that these Iranian statements are false, that no U.S. vessels were fired on.

June 3, 2026

President Trump continues to say that Iran and the U.S. are close to negotiating an end to the Iran conflict. Iranian statements indicate that the two countries are no longer passing messages through intermediaries. The U.S. House of Representatives voted to force an end to the Iranian conflict. The measure now goes to the Senate for consideration.
