In late February 2022 the Russians invaded Ukraine on three axis. From the north out of Belarus, from the east along the Russian border, and from Russian-occupied Crimea in the south. The invasion was preceded with a buildup of Russian forces along those three regions - an estimated pre-invasion strength of at least 150,000 troops.
