U.S. Army Rangers
The Abrams Charter, named after General Creighton Abrams, is a
document produced in the 1970s that outlined the vision for the
creation of a specialized, rapid-deployment force in the U.S.
Army. The 1st Ranger Battalion was subsequently formed. The
Charter laid the foundation for the structure, training, and
operational capabilties of the Ranger Regiment and its
battalions.
